Ancient Egypt: TIKI TOKI
- Each student will create a timeline for the civilization of Ancient Egypt. Please use the online timeline program: Tiki-Toki (you can also use popplet or prezi)
Task: Create a timeline that showcases the various periods, key accomplishments and reasons for decline for Ancient Egypt.
Criteria:
* highlights from all of the following time periods with dates:
- Old Kingdom
- First Intermediate Period
- Middle Kingdom
- Second Intermediate Period
- New Kingdom
* historically accurate synthesis of key events, characteristics/ highlights (ie. burial practices, art, architecture, accomplishments, trade, wars, expansion, religion) reasons for decline for all the various periods
* historically significant and relevant images for each of the various periods
* timeline is organized into themes / colours etc. in a coherent and logical manner
* timeline gives critical analysis / historical significance or makes connections between various time periods (ie. cause and effect relationships)

ALTERNATIVE
Ancient Egypt Burial Practices: TIKI TOKI
Each student will create a timeline of the ancient burial practices from Ancient Egypt. Please use the online timeline program: Tiki-Toki
Task: Create a timeline that showcases the nature, progression, definitive changes in burial practices in Ancient Egypt.
Criteria:
* timeline should emcompass practices that range from the Old Kingdom to the New Kingdom
* key events:
- mastabas / tombs
- Step Pyramid
- Great Pyramids of Giza
- Valley of the Kings
- embalming processes
- mummification processes
- spells
- coffins
- burial rituals
- funerary texts
*you can add any famous finds and tombs that have been discovered
